I got a call earlier today, saying that the class I signed up for has been cancelled because of low registration. I am not happy about that, because I paid over $200 for the class, and now I won't get my money's worth.
But, I can still take the class at a different time, which is good. The cancelled time was from 6 to 6:50 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. The second time that suits me best is 7 to 8:50 pm on Mondays. So, I'm going to try for that, and see what happens.
The teacher for this class (Food Sanitation and Safety) is the teacher I had for my Nutrition class last semester, so that is good. She actually lives by me, so if I miss the bus, I am able to ask her for a ride home, which is awesome!
I really hope the class won't be cancelled again, because I really want to go to school. School has become more enjoyable, now that I am in college, and not being able to go stinks.
Well, that's all for now. More to come later.

"The Taste Of" Festivals
Yesterday, I went to a Taste Of festival one town over with a friend of mine. I had a good time and was very glad my friend invited me to go to it with him.
There were arts and crafts booths, food, music, arcade games, and a couple kids rides. I bought a few pieces of jewelry: a pair of flower design earrings, and two rings.
I had tried eggplant for the first time at the festival, in the form of eggplant rolls, as well as fish tacos. Both were really good.
There is going to be another Taste of Festival in another nearby town, that I hope to go to as well. These festivals seem like fun.

Funnel cake is one of my favorite treats, and I was so glad they had it at the Taste. My friend and I shared a fried brownie, which he decided to try first, then offered me some as well. We had also shared the funnel cake and the eggplant rolls.

Five-Minute Friday: Small
I am linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker for today's Five Minute Friday.
Small things can add up to the big things in life.
Holding hands.
A small touch on the arm.
A small "I love you" note.
A smile.
Saying "thank you" for something someone has done for you.
A hug.
All the small things that happen add up.
No matter what you go through, there can be small things that can get you through the day, that add up.
Something small can mean something big to someone, so don't think you aren't making a difference in someone's life.

Giving Blood
Tomorrow, I will be giving blood at the local library's blood drive. This will be the fifth or sixth time I've given blood.
Needles don't bother me at all, but the one's these guys use are bigger than regular needles, so it hurts more when they put them in and take them out. But, I don't have any other complaints about donating blood.
Knowing that the blood I donate goes to help someone who really needs it is why I do this. I love donating something that is very much needed. I just wish there were more people willing to do that.
I have actually been turned away from donating once, because my blood pressure was a little high. I think that was because I had just walked to the library, and went to the drive shortly after I got there. This time, I will get there about an hour or so ahead of time, and relax, so I can donate this time.
I hope everything goes well tomorrow.
Well, that's all for now. More to come later.

What is Normal?
What is considered normal?
There is no one definition of normal.
Each person is their own version of normal.
Their life...views, religion, speech, eating habits, etc., is their own version of normal.
What is normal for one person, may be weird or unusual to another, but that's ok. No one should change for anyone.
Normal shouldn't mean being the same. It should mean being different, unique, amazing in our own special, normal way.
Normal should mean something different to each person.
Normal is...being unique, being different, being yourself.
It is ok to be different, and different is normal. And different is beautiful. Each person is different, and each person is normal. I just wish everybody knew that, and saw that.

School Starts In Two Weeks...Really?!
I just realized last night that school starts two weeks from today. It feels like summer just started and now it's time to get ready for school already. Where has the time gone? I'm not quite ready for school to start again. But, I am looking forward to it.
I am taking one class this semester, Food Sanitation and Safety, on Monday and Wednesday evenings, from 6 to 6:50 pm. That is perfect for me, as I am more awake and alert in the evenings. I am a big night owl, so later classes are perfect for me.
My Nutrition class started at 9 am, which was kind of tough for me, because I tend to stay up pretty late, but I was able to make it on time to every class, which was once a week (Thursdays). I'm just glad that I don't have to get up early for school anymore, though.
I found out that the teacher for this class is the teacher I had for my Nutrition class in the spring, so I know what to expect from her. Plus, she lives a few blocks away from me, so if I miss the bus, or can't get a ride from someone else (I don't have a driver's license yet), I can get a ride from her. Which is great.
I plan on becoming a baker, which is why I am taking this class (it's one of the required classes I have to take).
So far, I have been doing really well in my baking major classes (I have gotten straight As, which I don't think I have ever gotten, at least not like this), which is awesome. I have a learning disability, so remembering and learning things isn't easy for me.
But with getting these good grades, it is boosting my confidence in that it shows me I can do well in school, even with my learning disability. And I love that!
Plus, there are many people at the school who are willing to help me out if I need help, and they are very nice to me. Which helps a lot.
So, I'm pretty excited about the start of school. I already paid for my class, and for school supplies. I just need to find out what book(s) I need, and then I am all set. I have to go to school on the 20th, for this school info thing, so I will probably get my book then, if I find out what I need.

A Country Girl at Heart Living in a 'Big Ol' City'
I live in a big city (or, a suburb of a big city, but still...), but I prefer country living. I don't hate people or anything. I just prefer a quieter life.
I love that there is less traffic in the country, which means less noise, less violence/crime, less of the bad things.
Plus, I've always wanted to live on a farm, and farms are usually in the country. Living on a farm in the country is one of my big dreams, which I hope comes true someday.
I love the city and neighborhood I live in right now, but I just prefer houses to be a little bit more spaced out. And I prefer less noise from vehicles.
Being in the country can be more relaxing, and you can go at your own pace with things, which I love.
I can't wait until I am able to be on my own, so I can live in the country.
Well, that's all for now. More to come later.
*Thanks to Taylor Swift for the saying Big Ol' City. I heard that song on the radio yesterday, and thought it was perfect for this post. I had been wanting to blog about this topic for a few days now, and when I heard that saying, I wanted to include it in the title I had already thought of for this.

Five-Minute Friday: Lonely
I am linking up with Lisa Jo Baker for today's Five-Minute Friday.
Today's Prompt: Lonely
She feels lonely even in a crowd of people.
She feels like people will judge her for everything she does.
She stays silent and out of the way.
Her shyness makes her feel like she will always be lonely no matter what happens.
Loneliness is like a constant shadow
Always following us.
Always present in the mind.
It is an unwanted guest in our lives.
Being lonely prevents us from enjoying the best in life to the fullest.
It makes us feel like nothing good will happen to us.
No one should ever feel lonely.
There is always that one person
Who wants to be with you
And make you feel like you are worth their time
Worth their energy
That you are worth it.

Girls of God's Heart: Spiritual Pen Pal's
Girls of God's Heart: Spiritual Pen Pal's: Who loves getting stuff in the mail? I know this girl does. I literally look forward to checking the mail each & every day. Now a days m...
The women of this blog are pairing people up, who need encouragement, and spiritual uplifting. I thought that was a great idea, so I joined in on this. I got my pen pal today, who lives one state away from me. I can't wait to start writing letters and receiving letters as well.
I really need some encouragement these days, so I thought this was perfect for me. Also, I love receiving mail, and I rarely receive any these days. The mail I do get is pretty much all junk, so getting a letter from a spiritual pen pal would be a welcome change.
So if you want a pen pal who gives encouragement, check this out and see what you think.

Five-Minute Friday: Story
Everyone has their own story to tell. It includes happiness, sadness, joy, anger, grief, spontaneity, fun, and every other emotion in life.
There are as many stories out there as there are people. And each one is worth telling, and listening to.
Each one is as unique as the people themselves. There is no end to a story, just new beginnings.
A new life begins; a loved one dies; good or bad grades; a graduation; a birthday party; an accident; many variations to the story.
Our stories may not always be a happy story, but each one is ours to tell. No one else can tell our story for us.
We have the ability to change our stories if we want. It can be unpredictable at times, but that's what makes it a story. You never know what is going to happen all the time.
My story has many ups and downs, like any other, and I am proud of calling my story my own.
