My Summer 2021 Bucket List

Summer is quickly approaching, which means warmer weather where we can do more things outside.

After the year we all had, I want to get back into doing things outside, going places, and seeing friends and family in person more.

I am normally an introvert, but I crave connections with people, and with nature. So, not being able to see others, or go to many places, was hard. I am so happy things are starting to take a turn for the better, and hopefully things can go back to as close to normal as possible in the future.

So, in no particular order, here is my summer 2021 bucket list.
  • Volunteer at Joni and Friends camp
  • Make s'mores
  • Ride my bike at least 2x a week
  • Go to the local farmer's market
  • Make lemonade
  • Clean my bedroom up
  • Paint my bedroom walls
  • Get new furniture for my room
  • Dye my hair purple
  • Have a game night with friends
  • Knit or crochet at least 2 items
  • Have a picnic in the park
  • Spend a day (or more) in the city
  • Visit my local zoo
  • Go to the movies
  • Paint
  • Have at least one spa day
  • Host a bbq
  • Draw with sidewalk chalk
  • Bake once a week
  • Go horseback riding
  • Practice playing the violin at least 3x a week
  • Watch a movie at a drive-in theater
  • Make homemade popsicles
  • Build a fort
  • Build and fly a kite
  • Go to the beach
  • Read outside
  • Visit a farm
  • Have a girls' night out/in
What is on your summer bucket list? Anything fun planned?

Current Me

Photography
One of my biggest passions, I am always looking for opportunities to capture something. I mainly photograph nature, as well as my cats, but would like to broaden my portfolio with other types of photos (portrait, wedding, party, etc.) as well.

Violin
I played the violin for a couple of years in elementary school, and then quit because I "got bored." I very much regret that decision, and am trying to get back into playing again. I recently bought a new violin, and have yet to play. I haven't played in over 20 years, so I am very rusty, but I am more than ready to learn how to play again.

Baking
Another passion of mine, I love making things, especially treats, so that I can experience the joy of other people enjoying my creations. I went to school for baking, and am hoping to one day work at a bakery, or a place that sells baked goods.

Arts and Crafts
I love making things, as I get to use my hands. My favorite crafts are photography, knitting, crochet, painting, and working with clay. I would also like to learn how to sew, write songs, learn how to play the piano, learn how to play the ukulele, learn how to play the guitar, and learn how to make jewelry.

Words
I love words, even though I have a hard time with them a lot of the time when I have to speak. Writing/blogging is the best way for me to get my point across, as it gives me enough time to think about what I want to say without the pressure of a time limit. One thing I would love to be able to do is to write and publish at least one book in my life.

Private
I am a pretty private person, so it takes me quite a while to open up to people. I don't really like to share much about myself, although once I feel comfortable with someone, I may tell them about myself (usually only if they ask).

Travel
I am a big homebody, but I also love to travel. I haven't been to many places, though, and would love to change that. New places, old/familiar places, there are many cities, states, and countries I would love to visit/go back to.

Shy/Quiet
I am a very shy/quiet person, and have been for as long as I can remember. It can be very hard for me to say what is on my mind, how I am feeling, or to ask for help if I need it.

Games
I love games, and have quite a collection of board games, decks of cards, and video games. Ever since the pandemic started, I have been playing video games a lot more than I usually did before. It helps pass the time, gives me something to do, and allows me to relax when I need to.

My Current Playlist

I am always listening to music, as it helps me relax, and gets me through a tough time, or when I just need a pick-me-up.

I listen to a mix of country, Irish, pop, and Christian rock music, so there will be a mix of songs from each genre.

I switch between genres depending on how I am feeling at a particular time. For quite some time, I was only listening to Christian rock, and have starting listening to country music again. I am switching between both of these at the moment, as they are probably my favorite genres.

So, in no particular order, here are my current favorite songs:

  • Truth Be Told by Matthew West
  • Angels Among Us by Alabama
  • A Thousand Years by Christina Perri
  • Go Rest High on That Mountain by Vince Gill
  • Revolutionary by Josh Wilson
  • Free to Be Me by Francesca Battistelli
  • The Dance by Garth Brooks
  • Unanswered Prayers by Garth Brooks
  • Butterfly Kisses by Bob Carlisle
  • I Believe by Andrea Bocelli
  • Because We Believe by Andrea Bocelli
  • God Bless Us Everyone by Andrea Bocelli
  • Go Where Love Goes by Andrea Bocelli
  • Remember When by Alan Jackson
  • A Place in the Choir by Celtic Thunder
  • The Unicorn by The Irish Rovers
  • 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord) by Matt Redman and the Passion Band
  • Help is On the Way (Maybe Midnight) by TobyMac
  • I Can Only Imagine by MercyMe
  • Down to the River to Pray by Alison Krauss
  • I Will Wait by Mumford & Sons
  • You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban
