Yesterday, I went with a group of other women. through a Meetup group, to go see Finding Vivian Maier in theaters.
I am major photography nut, so this was a perfect thing to see.
Finding Vivian Maier is about a woman, Vivian Maier, who worked as a nanny, and secretly took over 100,000 photos of everyday life.
Most of her photos were never printed until after her death in 2009. A man had found her film in an auction sale, and decided to make that a project of his.
It was very interesting to hear about Vivian Maier. A man I volunteer with had told me about this film a while ago, but I couldn't remember what the title of the movie was.
When I saw this event on Meetup, I knew I just had to go to it. And I was very happy I did.

The Fault in Our Stars Movie Outing
Well, yesterday I decided to go see The Fault in Our Stars.
Oh. My. Gosh.
So sad, so moving, so beautiful. Definitely a tear-jerker of a movie.
If you decide to go see this movie, be prepared to cry quite a bit. Bring some tissue with you.
If you don't know what it is about, it is about two teenagers, a boy and a girl, who have cancer, and are trying to live life to the fullest with the time they have. They travel halfway around the world to have some questions answered, they go through the pain of sickness and of loss.
I haven't read the book before seeing the movie (yeah, yeah, I know we're "supposed to read the book first, but I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy, and I really wanted to see the movie), so I was a little unprepared for how it would go.
I may wait awhile before reading the book, though, as I'm still kind of on an emotional high right now.
But I will definitely read it, as I am curious as to how the book differs to the movie.
Movies like this really make me realize what's most important in life: family and friends, love, living every moment to the fullest.

Movie With a Friend: Maleficent
Friday afternon, I went to see Maleficent with a friend of mine. I had posted a status update, asking if anyone wanted to go see it with me, and she had said she wanted to. So during the week before we saw the movie, we made plans for the movie.
It was awesome!!!!
I would highly recommend it to others to watch.
If you don't know what Maleficent is about, here is a description of it from IMDB:
So, go see it in theaters if you can, or check it out from the library/Netflix if you can't.

A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal - an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces a battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom - and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well. Written by Walt Disney Pictures

Meetup Event #2: Seeing Divergent in Theaters
Today, I went to my second Meetup event ever, seeing Divergent in theaters. This is the second Meetup event I went to in five days.
Although the others who went to this Meetup and I didn't find each other before the movie, I really enjoyed it.
Here is a description of what the movie is about:
Although the others who went to this Meetup and I didn't find each other before the movie, I really enjoyed it.
Here is a description of what the movie is about:
DIVERGENT is a thrilling action-adventure film set in a world where people are divided into distinct factions based on human virtues. Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley) is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy by a faction leader (Kate Winslet) to destroy all Divergents, Tris must learn to trust in the mysterious Four (Theo James) and together they must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it's too late. Based on the best-selling book series by Veronica Roth.
After the movie ended, I went to Caribou Coffee and got a hot chocolate. It was a bit chilly out, so I needed something warm on the way home.
All in all, today was a good day.

Birthday Weekend
Well, yesterday was my birthday. I had a good day, getting a present from a neighbor family, a card and money from my dad, making a gingerbread house, putting up the tree and decorations, church with dad, baking a cake (yes, I baked my own birthday cake, which I do not mind doing at all), and watching a couple movies (Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Harry Potter 3).
I had a really good day overall. The presents I got from the neigbors were 3 headbands, a magnetic color cubes set, a dark chocolate turkey, and a card. I am already hooked on the color cubes, as I LOVE magnets. There is a booklet that came with the set, that has pattern ideas. I have already done two of them so far.
I'm not doing anything special today. Just relaxing.

Carrie Underwood - There's a Place For Us
I saw the movie The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader the other day, and this was one of the songs on the track. The instant I heard the song, I fell in love with it. Enjoy!!

Nothing interesting happened today. It rained earlier, but it’s sunny out. It’s also about 70 degrees out, which is unusual for winter here. But I’m not complaining. I love it!!The first day of spring is tomorrow. Even though this has been a very mild winter, I’m glad it’s over. I don’t really care for winter. Although, the last week or so has been very warm. Summer like weather warm. If winter could be like this all the time, I would love winter more.
The Hunger Games movie comes to theaters on Friday. I’m really looking forward to it. I have read the books, and can’t wait to see the movie. I might go with a friend or two, depending on how things work out. I don’t mind going to the movies by myself, though. It’s kinda nice, because I don’t have to wait for others to arrive, and be late for the movie.
But it’s nice to be with friends, too. I can hang out with them afterwards, and not be bored. So either way is fine with me. I’m not picky.
Last week on Monday, I got my ears pierced at Claire’s. I can’t believe it’s been a week already. Time went by fast. I have to keep the earrings in, and clean the piercings for six weeks. That’s a long time for me. I kinda want to take the earrings in and put other ones in, but surprisingly, I can’t handle not doing that.
These are the second set of piercings I have. The first set, also ear piercings, I got when I was thirteen. That was thirteen years ago. I’ve been wanting to get my ears pierced again for years. Probably soon after I got the first ones. But things didn’t work out like I wanted to, so I had to wait.
But I was able to get the second piercings now, and I was able to pay for it myself. I am really happy now. I’m debating whether or not I want a third piercing now. Although, I’m pretty happy with the ones I have now, so I won’t be disappointed if I don’t get any more.
Last Tuesday, I saw The Lorax in theaters. That was a really good movie. I can’t wait for it to come out on DVD, so I can buy it. If you haven’t seen it yet, I think you should. You would love it.
Well, that’s all for now. More to come later!

Snow Day
Today, we're supposed to have a really bad snowstorm, which ends tomorrow. We're supposed to get about a foot of snow in the end. We got a few inches so far, but right now, it looks like it's just barely snowing. I hate winter, and can't wait for spring to come.
I just hope I can get to school on time tomorrow. I take the bus, so I don't know if it will be on time. I hope so. But I am also hoping that classes will be cancelled tomorrow. At least I don't have any homework to turn in.
But I'm not going to be too hopefully. When I was in high school, we NEVER had a snow day, which I was not happy about.
Today, I just relaxed, since I did not have school today. Which is good, since it is probably really bad out. I might watch a movie later. Either Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince or Twilight.
Speaking of Twilight, the second movie in the series, New Moon, comes out next month, on the 20th. I can't wait until then.
This Friday is the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics. I don't like winter, but I love watching the Olympics. I will definitely be watching on Friday.
Sunday is Valentine's Day, though I don't have any plans yet. I hope I will soon. I really want to do stuff with friends. I don't have a boyfriend yet, but I don't need one to celebrate Valentine's Day. It can also be a day to have fun with friends.
Well, that's it for now. More to come soon.
