Lifetime Plans/Dreams

I just read a blog post by one of my favorite bloggers, about how, when she was growing up, her family made "lifetime plan" binders, which she continued doing when she got married, and now, with her kids.

I thought that was a great idea, and will definitely be making my own soon!

For some reason, I love making lists, and planning things out, so this would be great for me to do. I just wish I thought of doing it years ago!

There are a lot of things I want to do in life, and seeing it written down in this way would be awesome, and would motivate me more, to do the things I want to do.

So, thank you, 71 Toes, for blogging about your "lifetime plans," and inspiring me to want to make my own. And to actually work towards them!

The Grieving Process for Me

Three years ago, my mom passed away, and that really affected me. It's definitely not the same without her here. We were expecting her death, as the doctors told us she wasn't going to make it. Yet, it was still a bit of a shock. It's still hard to take in.

For maybe six months or so, I would cry myself to sleep pretty much every night. And I hated that, especially because I always went to my mom if I was upset about something, and she couldn't do that anymore. Which made me cry even more.

The only stage of grief I have gone through so far is sadness, which is actually surprising to me. I thought I would be mad that she was gone. But, I am thankful that this is the only stage I have been through. I do not want to feel mad, or any other feeling.

I'm doing better now, emotionally and mentally, but it's still hard at times. I still have moments where I just break down, and cry because my mom isn't here, but overall, I am doing good.

Shepherd Me O' God was one of the songs played at her funeral, and ever since then, I have heard it a few times more in church.

My mom's favorite song was Amazing Grace, which was also sung at her funeral.

Her death has shown me that I am much stronger than I thought I was, which, of course, is a good thing. It made me realize that if I can get through this, I can get through pretty much anything.

I miss my mom very much, and still love her. I can't wait for the day I get to see her again (although I hope that's not for a long time, as there are still things I want to do in this life).

A Friend in Need

I found out today that a friend of mine lost her dad to a drunk driver. I am sorry for her loss, but I'm also angry that the person was stupid enough to get behind the wheel and drive. Thanks to that person, my friend has to live with the grief and anger of losing her dad this way.

I hate it when people think they can drive after they've had drinks.  I know their judgment is impaired after drinking, but I don't get why they are allowed to get behind the wheel when they're drunk. It just gets me angry.

I wonder how that person feels, knowing that he has killed someone. I hope he feels tons and tons of remorse, guilt and shame. I hope he's put in jail for a long while, so he can think about what he's done. My friend and her family does not need to go through this. She is one of the most wonderful people I know, and I am fortunate to be considered one of her friends. She does NOT deserve this.

I will be leaving my phone on all night, probably for several nights, for my friend, if she wanted to talk at night. She was there for me when my mom died, so I'm repaying the favor for her. She desperately needs friends and family right now.

I know what she is going through, so I can shed a little light on her situation, if she has any questions for me. I'm just angry that there are people out there who drink and drive, and think that's ok. They don't really care about anything if they do that. I don't mind if people want to have a good time, but drinking doesn't have to be a part of that.

This is why I don't drink. Or, rarely drink. I don't want to put other lives in danger, because of my actions. I hate seeing people suffer, especially if it's friends and family. I just want to scream at the top of my lungs, because life is just so unfair. I know I can't change what has happened, but I wish I could tell people NOT TO DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what happens when you do. You jeopardize your life, and others' lives as well. You could end up killing someone, or yourself. You could cause a lot of grief, anger, and confusion. I wish I could ask this person why he did what he did. And how he feels. I really want to make him feel bad for what he did. But, I can't. That's ok, though. I don't want to cause anymore problems than there already are.

I really wish my friend wasn't going through all this crap. It's not fair. I hope the person who caused this finds it in his heart to apologize (even though that isn't enough for what has happened), and to feel bad for what he has done. If he doesn't feel sorry/bad about his actions, then he doesn't have a heart, and he is a  MONSTER. He doesn't deserve to live, if that is the case.

Sorry for going on like this, but I needed to let it out. Thanks for listening.

What All Girls Need to Know

important facts of Love & Life

If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away.

If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.

Stop making excuses for a man and his behavior.

Allow your intuition(or spirit) to save you from heartache.

Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that's not meant to be.

Slower is better.

Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.

If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can't be friends

A friend wouldn't mistreat a friend. Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.

Don't stay because you think it will get better

You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.

The only person you can control in a relationship is you.
Avoid men who've got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women.

He didn't marry them when he got them pregnant, Why would he treat you any differently?

If he is still friends with his ex, he must be confused. A man who respects you would never stay 'friends' with his ex.

If his ex is sticking around, she is probably the 'back-up' plan, don't let him deceive you like that...move on to a man that would never dream of replacing you

Never stay with a man that doesn't appreciate you, if he doesn't appreciate what you do for him now, what makes you think he ever will?

Always have your own set of friends separate from his.

Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you.

If something bothers you, speak up.

Never let a man know everything, he will use it against you later.

You cannot change a man's behavior, change comes from within.

Don't EVER make him feel he is more important than you are... even if he has more education or in a better job.

Do not make him into a quasi-god.

He is a man, nothing more nothing less.

Never let a man define who you are.

Never borrow someone else's man.

If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you.

A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.

All men are NOT dogs.

You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is two way street.

You need time to heal between relationships... there is nothing cute about baggage... deal with your issues before pursuing a new relationship

You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...a relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals...look for someone complimentary...not supplementary.

Dating is fun...even if he doesn't turn out to be Mr. Right.

Make him miss you sometimes...when a man always know where you are, and your always readily available to him- he takes it for granted.

Never move into his mother's house.

Don't fully commit to a man who doesn't give you everything that you need.

Keep him in your radar but get to know others.

You'll make someone smile, another rethink her choices, and another woman prepare.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them and an entire lifetime to forget them.

My Life

Yesterday, I got home from a disability leadership summit. I had a lot of fun, although I had a couple stressful times there. But I had a good time overall. We had workshops that taught us what services there are for us, our rights as people with disabilities, we had a pizza/bowling party (I got a score of 93; I got a strike and 2 spares), a dance, and an awards ceremony. It was a lot of fun. Too bad this was the last summit ever. The person funding this (and other stuff too) decided to cut the summit, which really stinks. This summit is a great way to learn about everything to do with disabilities, and it's a great way to have fun and meet new people. One of the mentors went around getting signatures, to keep the summit going. I really hope it gets to stay. I love going to the summit. We'll see what happens soon enough. Although I had a lot of fun there, I'm glad I'm home. I really wanted to be with my mom, since I'm going through a rough time emotionally. But I had to tough it out, and thankfully, I got through the last few days without much incident. Not much else is going on right now. Just relaxing at home.
Well, that's all for now. More to come later.
