Five Minute Friday: Together

I am linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker for today's Five Minute Friday.

Today's FMF: Together

We are all
Living on this Earth together
Why do we
Feel the need
To put others down
Hurt others continuously
We are meant
To be in this thing
Called life
Together
We are meant to
Live together
Learn together
Laugh together
Cry together
Love together
Comfort each other
Not shy away
From the world
Being together
With people
Who truly care
About others
Is an amazing thing
If we just
Let them into our lives
Making memories together
Being alone
Is not the way to live
We need people
We are a social creature
No one deserves
To live a life
Of loneliness
Being together
With others
Makes life worth living

A friend of mine posted this video, Who You Are, on her blog. I loved it so much, I thought I would share it as well.

Enjoy!

Five Minute Friday: Laundry

I am linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker for today's Five Minute Friday.

Today's FMF: Laundry

Laundry...something you can never get away from. Just when you think you're done, another pile of clothes pops up, that needs to be cleaned. It is a never-ending chore, that I'm sure a lot of people wish they don't have to do.

The more people living with you, the more laundry there is. But, it sure is nice to have clean clothes to wear on a daily basis.

Having clean clothes helps me feel good, and makes me feel better about myself, even just a little bit. Nobody would be judging me about having stained, smelly clothes on.

I used to not like doing laundry, because my mom would make me do it, which was not fun. Now, I don't mind so much, because I'm not forced to do it.

The good thing about laundry, is that once you put a load in to be washed, you can get other things done while you're waiting. And I like that.

My Holiday Bucket List

I figured that since it's getting close to the holidays again, I'd share a bucket list of sorts, of things I want to do. Here's what I came up with so far:

  1. Try sweet potatoes. Never had them before, and have been wanting to try them for a while now.
  2. Make pumpkin pie from scratch.
  3. Make a scarecrow
  4. Bake cookies for Thanksgiving and Christmas
  5. Make a snowman
  6. Make snow angels
  7. Have a snowball fight
  8. Watch A Christmas Story
  9. Go ice skating
  10. Make and drink hot chocolate
  11. Go sledding
  12. Watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the local parades
  13. Make a gingerbread house
  14. Participate in "You've Been Jingled"
  15. Watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas
  16. Make a collage with leaves, flowers, etc.
  17. Take photos of nature as it changes
  18. Attend a fall festival
  19. Go on a horse-drawn carriage ride
  20. Roast pumpkin seeds
  21. Make a Thankful Tree craft
  22. Start making sweater for dad
  23. Make a nature journal
  24. Carve/paint a pumpkin
  25. Get home movies onto DVD format
  26. Participate in "You've Been Boo'ed"
  27. Roast marshmallows
  28. Have a photo shoot in a pile of leaves
  29. Try snowboarding
  30. Go to the annual cookie walk in town
  31. Get a picture with Santa
There will probably be more as it gets closer to the holidays, but this is pretty much it for now.

International Day of the Girl

Well, apparently the other day was International Day of the Girl.

I think it's awesome that here is something like this, because girls really need to hear that they are beautiful exactly the way they are.

Girls do not need to be told that dieting, makeup, surgery, or anything else will make them better, or more beautiful. They are already beautiful.

They should not be made to feel less, like they are worthless. Like they are stupid, or ugly, or anything that makes them feel bad about themselves.

They deserve love, respect, encouragement, and a listening ear. They need to feel like they matter, that they are important.

It is so good to see that there are still people out there, who care enough to do something like this. I love it, and hope it continues!

I'm At That Age...

Where I don't really care too much about having birthday parties for my birthday. Although, I wouldn't mind going out (or staying in) with a few friends, if I feel the need for a celebration. I don't drink (I will have the seldom drink, though), so there will not be alcohol, or very little.

I have been like this for a while now, which is fine with me. Although, I still have a couple party ideas in mind, that I want to try out. One is a masquerade party, and the other is a Harry Potter party.

I have been a big Harry Potter fan since pretty much the beginning. I love the story, the characters, everything. Yes, I know that I am an adult, but that doesn't mean I can't like the series anymore.

I think that the idea of a masquerade party is really cool. The masks, the clothes, the mystery, the food/drink, the music...all of it.

So, hopefully I will be able to pull off both themes at some point.

Well, that's all for now. More to come later.

Five Minute Friday: Ordinary

I am linking up with Lisa-Jo Baker for today's Five Minute Friday.

Today's FMF: Ordinary

Why be ordinary
When you were
Born to stand out?
That is a phrase
I have seen and heard
Many times
And I quite agree
Ordinary is boring
Dull
Be unique
Be you
Each person
Is special and unique
Being ordinary is ok
But standing out
Is great
You don't have to be perfect
You just have to be yourself
And that is EXTRAordinary
That is beautiful

Fantasy Worlds I Wish Were Real

I saw an article/post on girlslife.com, where they listed which fantasy worlds they wished were real. So, I figured I'd list the ones I wish were real. They listed six in total in their list, so I will list six in mine as well.

Here they are:

  1. Hogwarts/Wizarding World  What's not to love about the wizarding world? Yeah, I know not everyone loves/likes the thought of witches and wizards, but it's fantasy stuff. But, if it was real, I would use magic to clean up my room (something I really do NOT like doing), do the dishes for me, and finish up my homework if I leave it to the last minute (which surprisingly seldom happens anymore).
  2. Middle Earth  Although there are some really scary, ugly creatures in this world, I wish it was real as well. They live awesome lives.
  3. Panem  Yes, it's awful, but it's a good series, too. They seem to have an interesting way of living, in each district. And, there are a lot of brave, inspiring people as well. Even though the Capitol tries to squash that.
  4. Twilight  Yes, I admit it, I'm a Twilight fan (although I'm a bigger fan of Harry Potter). If vampires were real, and they lived the way the Cullens did, I would be fine with living in a community with them. Plus, Alice Cullen is awesome!!
  5. Leven Thumps SeriesEven though it's only in book form, I still wish it was real. I want a sychophant, which are tiny, furry creatures that can turn invisible at will.
  6. Charlie and the Chocolate FactoryI LOVE chocolate, so this would be an amazing world to live in. Plus, who doesn't love chocolate (unless you aren't able to actually have it)?
