Don't DIS My ABILITY
Source
I saw this on Pinterest, and loved it.
It saddens me to see people with disabilities shunned because of their disability. Just because they are different from you, that does NOT mean they can't do anything.
So be nice to people; don't see someone with a disability as disabled. See them as a person, a human being. See them as beautiful.

Applying for Staff Positions at Camp (And Other Places)
I know it's still winter, but I have already applied for a couple different summer camps (or will apply in the coming days).
One camp is a paying job, and one is a volunteer job. Either is fine with me, but I would like the paying one, as I need the money. (The paying one is farther away than the volunteer one, though, so we'll see what happens.)
I do plan on looking at other places, but these are the ones I have applied/will apply to so far.
I hope I can do some sort of work this summer, even if it is temporary. I need the money, and the job.
I can't wait to see if I get any job offers in the coming weeks (and months). Hopefully I'll get one soon!!

Valentine's Day Kindness
I saw something sweet today while volunteering. At one of the stops on my route, an elderly living assistance place, I saw a woman there, with two girl scouts, who asked the receptionist if they could leave hand-drawn/colored Valentine's for the residents there.
It was one of the sweetest, nicest thing anyone could do for the elderly. Being remembered by someone, especially by children. It means someone still cares about them.
I am SO glad I got to witness this. It shows that there is still love and kindness in the world.

Finally Baking in Class
We started baking in class on Tuesday. It went pretty well, in my opinion.
Me and one of the two guys in the class (there are about 12 females in the class, including me) made biscuits and Valentine's day cookies.
The class also made petite fours, other cookies, tarts, pies, and corn muffins. It was pretty cool.
We were allowed to bring home some biscuits and corn muffins. I had some last night and they were pretty good.
The rest of the food was put in display cases to be sold to the public. I hope they like them!
I'm looking forward to baking more in class, and seeing how it all turns out.
The only down side to the class was that I cut my thumb on the knife I was using, which is from the pastry kit I got for the class. What a way to start the baking portion of class!
Fortunately, the cut isn't deep, but it'll definitely take a while for it to heal completely. I can't wait for it to go away, so I don't have to wear gloves all the time during class.
Otherwise, class went went, and am looking forward to next Tuesday's class!!

25 Things About Me
I haven't done any About Me lists for a long time, so I've decided to another one today. So, here goes.
- It's easier for me to get my point across through writing, than to actually speak.
- I have a big heart for adoption. I want to have biological AND adopted children once I get married.
- I tend to daydream a lot, and continue dreams I had while sleeping.
- I never really liked school until I got to college, yet I want to be an elementary school special education teacher.
- I hope to one day open up my own bakery.
- I love to watch baseball and ice hockey, although I am NOT an athletic person myself.
- I LOVE thrift stores.
- I have always loved fruits and vegetables, even as a kid.
- I am a big fan of the Lord of the Rings series.
- I LOVE spicy foods.
- I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 25 years old.
- I have never been outside of the USA before, although I came close to the USA/Canada border several years ago, when I went to Montana.
- My absolute FAVORITE animal is the horse. I also love dogs and polar bears.
- I LOVE chocolate.
- A friend of mine introduced me to Mahjongg several years ago, and I have been addicted to it ever since.
- I have never used makeup before, and probably will only use it for weddings, and other special occasions.
- I still love to use crayons, markers and colored pencils.
- I am seriously addicted to Pinterest, and have spent many, many hours on it, pinning stuff.
- I love to travel.
- I hate getting my hair cut, but I will willingly get it cut for organizations like Lots of Love.
- I love the smell of coffee, but hate the taste.
- The only hot drink I really like is hot chocolate.
- I volunteer at my local library three days a week, cleaning/repairing discs and delivering library materials to those who can't come to the library for whatever reason (mainly health related reasons).
- I am a major night owl.
- I am NOT a neat freak. I am trying to work on this a little, though. My bedroom looks like a tornado went through it, and it's taking me forever to clean it up.
2014 Sochi Winter Olympics
Well, the winter Olympics have started. The opening ceremonies were pretty cool.
A speed skater in the Olympics goes to my high school alma mater, so I am VERY happy that my town is represented this year.
I was surprised that the snowboarder Shaun White cut his hair. I loved his long curly hair; he looked good like that. He looks good with short hair too, but I like guys with long hair.
A few of the American athletes have already won Gold medals in their respective sports, so I'm happy.
I prefer the summer Olympics to the winter, as I am a warm weather person, but I like watching the winter Olympics as well.
Watching the snowboarding events has inspired me to want to try to learn how to snowboard.
The skiing events remind of of when I was in eighth grade, when the gym teachers took those who were interested, to a ski resort in Wisconsin, for a day of skiing.
I did alright until I got to the ski lift. I fell down as I was getting off of it at the top, which was VERY embarrassing for me. But, I got over it, and enjoyed the rest of the day.
I'm not an athletic person, but it's always fun to watch sports events, especially the Olympics.

Feeling Left Out
I've read/heard that Facebook can make people depressed or feel down, because seeing pictures and statuses of what they're friends are doing makes them feel bad about what they're doing. Like what they are doing isn't really all that great.
Well, I believe that is true. Seeing what my friends are doing makes me feel left out. I haven't done anything with freinds in quite a while, and seeing what they have been up to makes me feel like they don't want to be friends with me, as some of them still live in the same area as me, and they don't feel the need to include me in some of their activities.
It makes me feel kind of angry, and upset that they don't want to do anything with me anymore. I have invited them to do something with me, but they always declined.
It frustrates me that they don't seem to want to hang out with me anymore, so, I don't know what to do. A few of them have really been there for me a few years ago, when my mom died, helping me get through it. But now, it's like they don't even care anymore.
I don't want to let go of those friendships just yet, though. It's crazy, feeling this way when I'm an adult. But, it happens sometimes.
I'm hoping to be able to talk with them able this, and see how it goes from there.
