Easter Fun

Well, Easter is over now. The day went by fast, although I really enjoyed it.

The day started out with church at 9:30 am. On the way there, I saw a little girl wearing a bunny ears headband. I have one of my own, and love it.

Around 12:30 pm, my dad and I left go drive over to my sister's place, to celebrate with her and her family.

My niece and nephew were both very happy to see us, and to get their Easter baskets. We had an Easter dinner (ham, asparagus, potatoes, and sauerkraut), my niece and nephew had an Easter egg hunt (I was asked to hide the eggs again, which I don't mind doing), we had dessert (French silk pie), and then just relaxed awhile.

During that time, a friend of my niece, and her little sister had come over to play for a while.

The sweetest thing that happened was that the younger sister (who I think was about three years old) kept sitting next to me, even sitting right up close to me a couple times.

That made me feel really good, as it showed me that the girl trusted me enough to want to sit next to me, and to like me. We have never met before, so I was a little surprised by that, but I didn't mind at all. She was such a sweetheart!

Her older sister was also very nice to me, but she was really talkative. That's not a bad thing exactly, but seeing./hearing a six-year-old (I think that's how old she is) talk that much is...interesting. In a good way.

Prior to Easter, I had boiled eggs on Friday, to dye them later. That is one thing I will NEVER get tired of doing. Ever.

Saturday, I dyed the eggs, which came out really well, and made a bunny cake. It wasn't the greatest, but it came out better than expected, which I am happy about.

I had never made a bunny cake before, so I didn't really know what to expect, but it was a neat experience.

I have seen recipes for bunny cakes on several occasions, and have been wanting to make one for a while, and I finally got the chance to make it for the weekend.

Here are some pictures of the fun.

French Silk Pie...Yummy!!

Dyeing eggs for Easter

I had to change to these cups, as the other ones didn't work as well.

Hard-boiling the eggs so I can dye them for Easter.

All the eggs are dyed!

I hope everyone who celebrates it, had a wonderful Easter!

Sorry For the Long Pause in Posting

Easter was on the eighth, and I celebrated at my sister's house. I had a good time. I absolutely love seeing my niece and nephew. I just wish I could see them more often. They live an hour away from me. But, at least I get to see them as often as I do.
They loved their Easter baskets. They had a lot of fun looking for Easter eggs, too. My brother-in-law asked me to hide the eggs out in the yard. So I hid 2 dozen eggs for my niece and nephew. It was fun watching them look for the eggs.
One thing I gave my niece and nephew were this micro kites, which were mini kites. I played around with my niece's kite for a bit, and had a lot of fun with it. So, the day after Easter, I went to Walgreens (where I got the kites), and bought one for myself. It's in the shape of a butteryfly. I haven't used it yet, but I will soon.
This past Tuesday, I had a friend over for some knitting/crocheting time. Besides that, we also cooked and ate quesadillas and watched a few episodes of Gossip Girl. She also taught me how to crochet. So now I will be doing some crocheting for a while.
I haven't been feeling well for almost a week now. It doesn't feel like a cold, but my nose is stuffy/runny, and I'm tired a lot. I really hope I feel all better soon. I hate feeling sick.
Well, that's all for now. More to come later.

Goings On In My Life

Yesterday, I had a couple friends over for an Easter get-together. We dyed eggs, made cookies, had an indoor Easter egg hunt, had snacks, and listened to music. My friends gave me some bags of jelly beans, and a container of milk chocolated malted milk balls. Those are really good, and one of my favorite snacks. I had a good day yesterday.
Today, I went to church to celebrate Holy Week. I got the palms, and enjoyed listening to the service. Church was pretty packed today. After church, my dad took me driving. I was nervous, since it has been about 7 years since I last drove, but I did pretty good. We were out for about 40-45 minutes. It didn't seem like that long. I did better than I thought I would. I can't wait to get my license.
Next Sunday, I will be going to my sister's house, to celebrate Easter. I am really looking forward to seeing my niece and nephew. I haven't seen them in a while, so I can't wait until next weekend.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so I am planning on buying the DVD of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 sometime this week. I know, I know. I would have gotten it earlier if I had the money. But I have the money now, so I will be getting it soon. I can't wait until part 2 comes out.
I also can't wait for Breaking Dawn to come out, either. That's another one of my favorite series. Stephenie Meyer and J.K. Rowling are awesome. I love their books.
That's pretty much it for now. More to come later.

Long Overdue Post

ostWell, not too much has gone on. I had 2 different dentist appointments last month, to get cavities filled in. That actually stressed me out a little. I had to have nitrus oxide, to calm me down. I am sooooo glad that's over with!!
My niece's birthday party was August 8th. I had a good time. I can't believe she's 3 years old already. It seems like yesterday that she was just a baby. I can't wait to start taking her, and her brother, places.
I will be taking a chocolate class in the fall. I am really looking forward to it, since I LOVE chocolate!!! The only thing I don't like about the class is that it's 4 1/2 hours long. But I'll live. It's a class on something that I love, so I'm happy.
I start on September 10, which is probably a week or two later than most other classes start. I'm happy about that. It gives me more time to prepare. Another thing I'm happy about is that there are no required books for this class, so that's one less thing to pay for.
Well, that's all for now. More to come later.
