My World

Not too much has happened lately. School is almost over (about a week or two until finals, and then summer break). I am so happy school is almost over, since I've been pretty stressed out recently.
Next semester, I am planning on taking a chocolate class, which is part of my degree (I plan on becoming a pastry chef in the hospitality industry). It seems like a fun class, although, it's 4 hours long. I can probably handle that, since the class is only one day a week (Friday).
Though, it's not paid for yet, so I have to wait for the bill to come. I can't wait to start the class. Seems like a fun and interesting class to take.
This coming May is my nephew's 5th birthday. There's no plans yet for a party, but we'll find out soon. I can't believe he's almost 5. It seems like yesterday that he was a baby. Time goes by fast.
Well, that's all for now. More to come later.

100 Things About Me: The Last 25

76. I have never been to Italy, but I am obsessed with that country. I love the language, pasta, and the people. I hope to visit Italy someday. Hopefully soon.
77. I wish I was a lot better at singing than I am now. I was in choir throughout school, except for college. If I was better at singing, I would be more willing to sing karaoke.
78. I am very passionate about disability rights, as I myself have a disability. Last summer, I went to the Illinois Youth with Disabilities Leadership SUmmit, and had such a great time there. We learned about our rights, and had fun as well. I hope I get to go again this year.
79. I've only gone camping (in a tent) once in my life, and the only parts I didn't like were that it was cold, and that I didn't get much sleep. Overall, though, it wasn't all that bad, since I was in a beautiful city (San Francisco), and had a great experience.
80. Whenever I have kids, I'm debating over whether or not I want to homeschool them. it's been on my mind for quite a while now. One of my friends was homeschooled until 8th grade, and she told me she liked it.
81. SOlitare is my favorite card game. It's a simple game, but I enjoy playing it.
82. My least favorite exercise is running. I hated running the mile in school, and am glad I don't have to do so again.
83. My favorite actor is Johnny Depp. A lot of the roles he's had were weird, but he plays them convincingly. I've always wanted to meet him, and I hope to do so someday soon.
84. For my last birthday, one of my friends paid me a surprise visit to give me a birthday present. She gave me a really nice card, and a beautiful heart-shaped picture frame. It was really nice of her to do, but it has made me feel like I'm obligated to give her something for her birthday now. Though, I wouldn't mind getting her something. She's my friend, and something would be better than nothing.
85. My cat being put down was one of the hardest things I've gone through. She was like a best friend to me. No matter what I went through, she was there for me. Now, with her gone, I feel like I'm alone. I know I have my friends and family, but having her with me made my life a whole lot better. I hate not having a pet in the house. I do want more pets someday. I hope that someday is real soon.
86. I am really sensitive by nature, so if someone says something, even when it's only supposed to be meant as constructive criticism, I get upset by it, or feel down because of it. I also cry when I see other people cry. I try not to let everything get to me, but it's hard.
87. My favorite ice cream flavor is cookies and cream.
88. I prefer chewy cookies over crunchy cookies.
89. I have been into science for as long as I can remember. I wonder how thyings work, and why they work the way they do. And how things come/came into being. I'm also interested in personalities, and why people act the way they do.
90. Another branch of science I'm interested in is Astronomy. I've always wanted to know how the planets and stars formed, why they are where they are, and why there are as many as there are. I also wonder how and why black holes form. And why it takes so long to get to some planets. And how many universes there are, and how far space goes on for. Pretty much everything about space interests me. Though, I'm not sure if I want to go into space. It would be cool to go, but I don't know if I want to make it a reality right now.
91. Like a lot of people, there are things about myself that I want to change, like my eyes, my hair, and my feet. There are physical conditions that I don't like, which makes me uncomfortable with my body.
92. When I had a birthmark on my neck, I felt even more uncomfortable with my body. I was so glad when it was removed, because I didn't/don't have to worry about it anymore, and I could feel better about my body, even just a little bit.
93. I have a very low tolerance for pain. Even if the pain is minor, like a headache, I complain about it, or I don't want to do anything. I know I have it better off than some people, but I don't like being in pain, no matter how bad or minor it is.
94. I love guys who have long hair, a beard, and a mustache. Though, some guys don't look good like that, in my opinion.
95. I also love guys with deep voices. Though, the deeper the voice, the weirder it sounds. I guess I like deep, low voices because they sound soothing. And cool.
96. I wish I could go back in time, to my elementary school days. Those were probably the best years of my life. I loved being in girl scouts, and going on the campouts, getting the badges, making crafts, and all the other stuff we did. I hope to be a girl school councelor someday. I also loved the field trips the teachers took us on, and the teachers I had.
97. My best friend from elementary school moved away in second or third grade. It was the worst day of my life then. I remember her mom took us out for ice cream, the day before they left. I miss her very much, and hope to see her again someday.
98. I prefer pens over pencils. Although, it is annoying if I make a mistake and can't erase it. For the last several years, I've written in pen a lot more than pencil. I don't know why I prefer pens more. It's just a habit I have.
99. For quite a while, I've been fascinated by magnets. It's interesting (and fun) to see which magnets are attracted to each other, and which aren't. And it's fun to decorate magnetic surfaces with funky magnets.
100. I am addicted to the Internet. I go on and stay on longer than I should, but it's hard to stay away. As soon as I get the Internet on my computer, I will probably cut down my Internet time.

100 Things About Me: The Next 25

53. I love the Three Stooges.
54. My dad got me into the Beatles.
55. My favorite restaurants are TGI Friday's, Cracker Barrel, and The Waffle House.
56. I am double jointed, and love being double jointed. Except when I get a kink in my neck, and it won't go away.
57. I hated wearing glasses when I was in elementary school. In second grade, I sometimes pretended I forgot to bring them to school, so I wouldn't have to wear them. Though, after second grade, I wasn't force to wear them anymore, which made me happy. Now, I don't mind wearing them as much. I don't know what made me change my mind about glasses.
58. I have never been outside of the U.S. before, and I really want to go abraod soon.
59. I want to live in another country for a year or two, to see what it's like living there.
60. I want to adopt special needs children. They have as much a right to a family as any other child, and they deserve a loving family.
61. Like a lot of girls, I love to shop. I usually go by myself, which I don't mind one bit. I can get what I like, without any criticism or judgment from friends and family.
62. On Christmas Eve of 2003, I had the birthmark from my neck removed, which I was very, very happy about. The surgery was supposed to be December 17, but thanks to the doctor, it had to be rescheduled. If I didnt have the birthmark removed, it could have been cancerous.
63. I have never had a boyfriend before, though I have had a couple crushes.
64. I have more female friends than male. I don't really know why that is. Maybe because they thought I would make a good friend.
65. I wish the wizarding world was real. It would be so much easier if chores could be done by magic. And homework. Then, I would be able to have more time to do what I want, and not worry about what has to get done. And I wish that Hagrid was real. He seems like a person I would love to have in my life.
66. I'm not an athletic person, but I love watching sports, mainly baseball and ice hockey. As for playing sports myself, I've rarely done that on my own (basketball for a little while, and tennis).
67. I also love to swim, bike ride, roller blade, and play Frisbee.
68. Although, actually getting the exercise is hard for me, since I can be lazy at times.
69. If I had a choice between being smart or being pretty, I'd choose being smart. I don't care too much about looks.
70. I've tried both times of skiing, and stunk at both.
71. I want to try snowboarding next.
72. I love nature, so I try to go for walks as often as I can, and take pictures of the things in nature.
73. I've never had a dog before, but have always wanted one. My favorite breed is the golden retriever.
74. I prefer long hair, though once, I've had hair short enough to where it couldn't be put into a ponytail or pigtails. I'm thinking about getting a pixie cut someday.
75. Music and journals are two things I can never live without. It keeps me sane when things get stressful, and too much for me to handle.

38. I love dry erase boards. I usually just doodle on it, though I do write reminders on it, too.
39. I have been to the north, east, and west ends of the continental U.S. Hopefully soon I'll get to go to the south someday.
40. I keep a dream journal, as well as a regular journal. I love to see what my mind comes up with when I'm sleeping, and not in control of my mind.
41. I love rainstorms and thunderstorms.
42. Sometimes, I wish I was ambidexterous. I am right-handed, and want to be left-handed as well.
43. I love things that glow in the dark. I have glow-in-the dark stars on my bedroom ceiling.
44. I like to spend time alone, to think. I sometimes get stressed out by life (like anyone else would), so I got to my room to relax. It's like my own perfect little world.
45. Sometimes I get ideas for stories from dreams I've had. And a lot of my dreams are interesting enough to turn into stories.

100 Things About Me: The First 25

1. I am a big chocoholic.
2. I love children.
3. I love animals.
4. I love photography.
5. I love writing.
6. I love baking.
7. I want to become a special education teacher someday.
8. I want to open my own bakery.
9. I want to go to the summer olympics for horseback riding.
10. I have a learning disability, which makes it hard for me to concentrate on homework, and I get frustrated when I can't understand the work, and to get it done.
11. I am a really shy person, so writing is the best way to express myself.
12. I hate confrontation. I try to avoid it whenever I can.
13. Not having a job, a license, and a car is frustrating, because I can't buy what I want, when I want, and I have to rely on others to drive me places all the time.
14. I am most definitely not a neat freak. It takes me forever to clean my room, and when I do, it just gets messy again pretty quickly.
15. I am a very big Harry Potter fan. I've seen the movies and read the books a thousand times, and I never get tired of them.
16. I have never met anyone famous, and I want to someday.
17. I'm not real big on video games, but when I do play, I play for probably 2 or 3 hours at a time. With a few breaks, of course.
18. I strongly dislike coconut. And yes, I have tried it before. I don't like the texture of it.
19. I used to love mushrooms when I was a kid. I don't remember why I stopped eating them, or when. I've been wanting to start eating them again for a while, but just haven't. It's been so long since I've had them, I don't remember what they taste like.
20. I never did well in school until my junior year of high school. Which is why I didn't really like school that much. At least, I don't remember doing well until then. My mom told me I did well for the first few years of elementary school. But for reasons even I don't know or understand, I want to be an elementary school special education teacher. I guess it's because I have a learning disability, and can relate to others who are like me. Though, I had trouble in my classes that relate to my degree, so I changed my major to hospitality. In the future, I will definitely get my teaching degree.
21. SOmeday I want to live on a farm and raise horses. As long as I get to do that with a husband, kids, and teaching and baking jobs, then I will be happy and content. I would be living my dream with the people (and animals) that I love, and living a good life (hopefully).
22. My favorite musical artist is Italian singer Andrea Bocelli. I was channel suring one day about 7 or 8 years ago, and one of his concerts was on TV.
